A Home for the Holidays!

After living in-shelter for 2.5 years, a single Mom (not pictured) and her two children are FINALLY moving into a home of their own.  Through the endless dedication of RCH Shelter Worker, Eric (pictured on the left), and RCH Housing Specialist, Jackie (pictured on the right), Mom & kids will have a home to call their own for the holidays!!

AWARDS

Jackie and Vanessa, were publicly recognized by the Suffolk County Department of Social Services for their unwavering dedication and service to two homeless male clients.  One was mentally ill and passed through almost every shelter in Suffolk County. Another arrived at the shelter via ambulance, wearing a hospital gown, and attached to an oxygen tank.  Through tireless effort, patience, and advocacy, Jackie was able to put together a permanent housing plan for both of these gentlemen.  With the assistance of Vanessa, endless hours of crisis management and interrupted vacations,  both of these RCH clients were housed in long-term programs that could assist with their mental and physical disabilities.
